Back Home & Back to the Grind

I know I have not been updating much. Was lucky to ship the last side event at the APT, a 6 max event for 6k. The cash wasn't that big but it was my first take down in a live event. I take that as a sign of many more to follow. I'll be embarking on my self-challenge starting from September. I think there would be some re-adjustments to the final goal to make it more realistic. The goal and requirements are as follows:

1)Grinding up 5k to 150k by the end of June 2010
2)Grinding would be done exclusively on RedKings
3)Minimum of 50 buy-ins required for the stake of MTT/SNG being played
4)Only able to sit in a cash game for not more that 2.5% of my bankroll
5)Valueback would be added in after every end of the month

First and foremost, I'm doing this challenge to get myself back into the grind mode and away from all the loose gambling mentality which I feel that I've slowly fallen into. Secondly I think I have to start preparing myself when I decide to relocate overseas in July 2010. I think its time I start to do some proper growing up.

At the same time, I'll be spending a lot more time with my students and stakees to sharpen up their games and help bring their game to the next level. That always brings me great satisfaction, and coaching slots are still available from September onwards so do keep the queries and emails coming in. Also the trip report for my Macau trip would be up during the weekend so do stay tune. In the mean time I wish everyone good luck at the tables.

150k sounds like a decent goal. Hope you pull it off :)

Isn't that too less? Even 50 buy-ins for cash games isn't too much.

Most of the good finnish tournament players use more than 500 buy-in for MTT.

You have to learn the rules of the game. And then you have to play better than anyone else.

Updates would be great!

I wonder how you can survive with 50 buy-in rule in tournaments. I think you have to run really well to survive or go lower level everytime you lose couple bins at certain level. Very stressful IMO.
